This was an occasion that the Editors of the Wayns World Newsletter missed - it stayed dry in Winchester! We happened to bump into a Wayn in Music at Winchester a couple of days after this concert. That person will probably be grateful to remain anonymous as, when asked how the concert went, he/she replied "we were wet through to our knickers"!
Sheila also missed this occasion, and writes: "I seem to have been fortunate to have missed the Middle Wallop Airshow (!). Seriously, the weather could not have been more different than when we performed there last, and members who sang on August 3rd - and lived to tell the tale - deserve huge congratulations!"
Martin received a letter from Col. (Retired) Ross Mallock AFC, who wrote: "The Wayns did us proud.... Conditions were not good at various stages of the concert and the audience sat cheerfully under brollies for much of the programme. However, miraculously the skies cleared at the outset and we had a full programme, except for the Parry, which I had to cut before the interval... I'm afraid I had no choice..."
